General states
On the first day of BITAS, the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce is organizing the 2nd edition of the General Assembly of Active Tourism in Sardinia, with the option of attending both in person and remotely, via the web platform.
The General Assembly of Active Tourism will be held on 23 March 2022 in Alghero. The aim of this second edition is to provide new input and create opportunities to boost and structure the active tourism product, thus promoting its growth in the international tourism market.
The General Assembly provides the opportunity to exchange ideas and hold discussions to develop new proposals and new attractors; to identify and depict the realties presented by the local areas; to support the activities of tourism service companies and professionals permanently based on the island; to remove obstacles to new opportunities for the emergence and sustainable development of individual initiatives and local network systems, while protecting biodiversity and enhancing eco-system services, as indicated in the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy.
Representatives of tourism companies, trade and environmental associations, sports federations, local governments, marine parks and oases, universities and the general public are invited to take part, either in person or remotely, after registering on the platform.
Sellers accredited to the workshop proceedings are expected to attend the General Assembly States of Active Tourism to share their experiences in the sector and offer their input.
